AMARNATH YATRA 2023 REGISTRATION:

GET READY GOR THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Lord Shiva is a beloved Hindu deity among all people, not just among Indians but also among people from other countries.

This yatra can be performed annually. During the months of July and August, the state government of Jammu & Kashmir organises it. The publishing of this voyage is published in the month of June.

This yatra is attended by thousands of people. A holy yatra to Amarnath is undertaken by pilgrims during the month of Shravan (July–August).

The Indian government also offers Amarnath Yatra application forms Shiva, one of the holy trinities, is a living deity. The Rig Veda, the most revered and historic book in India, attests to his existence from the beginning of time and invokes his presence in its hymns, Vedic Myths, and ceremonies.

According to legend, Parvati and Shiva were in a cave near Amarnath when Shiva revealed the process of creation. Unbeknownst to them, a pair of doves overheard this chat and, after learning the secret, reincarnated repeatedly and made the cave their permanent home. Many pilgrims claim to have seen the doves couple while making the difficult journey to offer respects at the ice lingam (the phallic symbol of Shiva).

This cave is located at a height of 14000 feet above sea level. The intended pilgrims are permitted to complete the journey from Ashard Purnimashi to Shravan Purnimashi, which takes about a month. A number of key meetings are held in Pahalgam and Srinagar to discuss and finalise various arrangements (the base-camp for Amarnath Yatra). Among other yatra-related decisions, one was made to limit yatra traffic on the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the daily cap specified by the Sen Gupta Report.

The J&K tourist offices outside the State are simultaneously urged to begin Yatries must be registered in advance, on a first-come, first-served basis, within a certain time frame. Thereafter, the State's tourist offices handle "current registration," which lasts until the end of the yatra. The Tourism Department advertises in top national daily as well as local newspapers with full details about Yatra, as well as other relevant topics like Dos and Don'ts and the installation of free lodging by NGOs. However, all of the tourism offices located both inside and outside the state can provide the intended Yatris with the complete information in the form of written material.

Pratham Pujan, a prayer to Lord Shiva, is performed at the beginning of the Amarnath Yatra. Between Guru Purnima and Shravan Purnima, the yatra is at its most enjoyable and best.

Shri Amarnath Shivling

According to tradition, Lord Shiva had to accede to Goddess Parvati's demands to learn the truths of life and death, but he couldn't take the chance of someone listening in. So they started travelling to a mountain cave that could only be accessible by the gods themselves due to its extreme difficulty. Because the information was so sensitive, all of the companions had to be left behind as well.

So Nandi, the bull he rode, was left at Pahalgam, as were the moon atop his head, the serpent around his neck, the five essential components he carried, Panchtarini, and even his son, Lord Ganesha, at Mahaguna top. And now, every year, Hindu devotees find themselves making this treacherous uphill climb.

But the Amarnath Yatra is more than just a pilgrimage. Even the most agnostic among us find the adjacent locations to be enticing tourist destinations. Amir Khusro once referred to Kashmir as "Paradise on Earth," and with good reason. You can explore places like Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Sonamarg on one trip, among other must-see locations.

Lord Shiva is a member of the Holy Trinity and a living Deity. His presence is alluded to in the songs of the "Rig Veda," the oldest and most revered book in India. His prehistory is attested to by Vedic tales, rituals, and even astronomy.

It is well known that Lord Shiva built his abode in the Himalayas. He didn't construct a home or a place to stay for himself or his wife, the goddess Parvati. He was married and an ascetic; "He is the God playing in the wild or lounging on a cloud."

Shri Amarnathji Cave Shrine is located in a 3,888 m-high narrow ravine at the extreme end of Lidder Valley, 45 km from Pahalgam and 141 km from Srinagar. Although the ancient pilgrimage specifies that the yatra begin in Srinagar, it is more popular to start at Pahalgam and travel the four or five days to Shri Amarnathji and back. A total of 96 miles separate Pahalgam from Srinagar.

Due to its short, yet extremely steep, distance to the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnathji, the Baltal route via Sonamarg has also recently grown in popularity.

The scenic towns of Pahalgam and Sonamarg serve as the starting places for the pilgrimage; a massive city of tents emerges to house the pilgrims at both of these locations. The Jammu & Kashmir State Government enlists the aid of the security departments to help with the enormous burden of conducting the yatra by providing security and assisting in maintaining the route's openness. The same amenities that are offered at Pahalgam and Baltal are present at all intermediate rest areas.

Today, all pilgrimage-related activities are conducted and coordinated by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).

Shri Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to start from Pahalgam & Baltal on specific dates throughout the month of Shravan. This year's Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2023 will start on time, and registration information will be released in conjunction with that announcement.

Soon before Shri Amarnath Yatra 2023 begins, online helicopter reservations open.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

It is considered to be one of the spots with religious significance for Hindus. In this cave, Lord Shiva, the destroyer and protector of the absolute, is revered as an ice-lingam.A predetermined Registration Form is used for all registrations for the Shri Amarnath Yatra in 2023 to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnath. All yatris who intend to participate in the yatra are given access to the necessary application form and compulsory health certificate (CHC) online as well as through authorised bank branches for registering for the yatra in 2023 across India.

To make sure that all prospective Yatris (Pilgrims) are aware of the necessity of obtaining the required "Compulsory Health Certificate as per Format issue by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) for Shri Amarnath Yatra" from the accredited Physicians/Medical Facilities, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board issues very clear advisories.

The List of Approved Facilities and Physicians

Constantly updated and made available online, the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) application form is for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2023.

Since 2014, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has also offered "Group Registration" to make it easier for prospective pilgrims to register. A group can be made up of family members, friends, or neighbours. The SASB has started a "Group Registration" programme to make it easier for all pilgrims (Yatris) to register on a specific date.

The guidelines for group registration for the Shri Amarnath Yatra in 2023 are as follows:

If a group of five or more Yatris planning to participate in the Shri Amarnath Yatra in 2023 is unable to get Yatra Permits from the closest bank branches because the designated number of openings (registration quota/slots) have been filled, the Group's individual members may apply collectively by registered mail to the Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board at the Chaitanya Ashram in Talab Tillo, Jammu, and the K-Villa Sohrawardy House in Shiv Pora, Srinagar, in order to obtain Registration for the Yatra.

The Group Registration starts on the date SASB announces and ends on the specified day as well.

The first 50 registrations per group per day per route will be accepted. Group registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to the date- and route-specific vacancies (Registration quota/ slots) available for a particular day/ particular route.

The Group Leader (one of the intended pilgrims of the group) must send the following documents in order to apply for the Yatra Permit under the "Group Registration Facility."

Original copies of the mandatory Compulsory Health Certificates (CHCs) issued by accredited medical facilities or authorised physicians.

Each applicant must provide four passport-sized photos, one of which must have their signature on the front.

Yatra registration cost last year was Rs. 150 per Yatri.

The group leader's mailing address, phone number, and email address.

The amount owed to the SASB (Yatra Registration Fee and Postal Charges) must be sent in the form of a bank draft drawn in the name of the Chief Accounts Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. No one under the age of 13 or older than 75, nor a female who is more than six weeks pregnant, may register for the Yatra.

If vacancies (registration quota/slots) are not available for a specific date for which Registration has been requested by the Group, the Group Leader will be telephoned and informed about the next available slot for Group Registration and, if that is not acceptable to the Group Leader, the Application Forms, Compulsory Health Forms, and other necessary paperwork. The Group Leader will receive the Certificates, along with the Registration Fee, via registered mail. This will be done and submitted to the Group Leader via registered mail if he agrees to request Registration on a date for which there is still room.

Only CHCs issued after a date specified by SASB will be accepted for Yatra 2023 registration.

Only the day and route for which a yatri has registered will be allowed for him or her to start their yatra.

NRI/ex-Indian pilgrims' registration process - The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board has put systems in place to allow NRIs and anyone who have left India to register for the Shri Amarnath Yatra. These facilities are especially created in light of the fact that many overseas devotees participate in this yearly Yatra. The process for registering NRIs and ex-Indian pilgrims is as follows:

An ex-Indian pilgrim must transmit scanned copies of the following documents to an authorised officer in order to register for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra in 2023:

fill-out application forms as required.

Health Certificate Required.

scan of the applicant's photo

Rs. 500 per Yatri for registration (to be deposited in the Punjab National Bank).

By email, Shri Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Security Manager, Punjab National Bank, will let the pilgrim know if they have registered for the yatra and where to find the bank branch in Jammu or Srinagar where they may pick up their yatra permit.

To prevent these forms from being copied by criminals, SASB designed and laid out the Shri Amarnathji Yatra Permit Registration Forms with a number of high security features. The Himalayan pilgrimages, which were developed throughout time by Hindu sages and embody the spirit of wander, adventure, and spirituality, are the oldest organised travel system.

HOW TO ACCESS

The base camp, where the actual yatra begins, is reached by the followers.

Bus services from Jammu to Pahalgam and Baltlal are provided by the State Transport and independent companies. These are the two locations where the Amarnath Yatra can be started.

TWO WAYS TO REACH AMARNATH YATRA

The 14 km shorter and northern route begins at Baltal. Since it is steep, climbing it is challenging.  The route that is longer, simpler, and more conventional passes through Srinagar.

The pilgrims begin the Amarnath Yatra from Pahalgam or Srinagar on The Amarnath Yatra starts off with a pujan, or prayer to Lord Shiva. The yatra is at its most delightful and best between Guru Purnima and Shravan Purnima. The followers arrive at the base camp, which is where the actual yatra starts.

The 14 km round route via Baltal, Domial, Barari, and Sangam is shorter but more difficult and takes one to two days. Ponies are not permitted on this route, though, for safety concerns. Either one must walk or ride on "Dandies" (carried on a seat atop shoulders of other people). The Amarnath Yatra route is seen to be more advantageous for leaving the temple and returning than for ascending, as the high incline is thought to pose major health risks to guests who have not yet acclimated. This walk is undertaken by young, healthy individuals seeking adventure while on a religious pilgrimage. Route via Pahalgam of the longer Amarnath Yatra is generally chosen by the majority of followers.

Depending on the pilgrim's devotion, the distance covered during the trip can range from 36 to 48 kilometres. Typically, one way takes 3–5 days on the walk. Compared to the Baltal walk, the Amarnath trail is significantly larger and slopes more gradually. But throughout virtually the entire way, one will also see pony crowds. It is advised against using this yatra route for those who are elderly, sickly, or have a history of ailments. However, both routes are able to provide the best facilities given the circumstances in large part due to the efforts of the Indian Army, the Central Government, and State Government Police Forces for security and facilities.

Along with the government-provided amenities, a number of non-profit organisations and private businesses set up stalls.the route where the pilgrims' rest stops are. In these pandals, there is always food available. However, Shri Amarnath Yatra trust, which offers amenities like telephone, electricity supply, firewood, etc., manages the general management of the yatra. It is advisable to leave your cell phone at home because they are useless in the area. Online reservations for helicopters are possible.

The walk to Amarnath is now a lot easier than it used to be a few years ago when there were no facilities at all thanks to the efforts of the involved agencies (both government and private). However, the Amarnath Yatra Route is one of the most difficult pilgrimage routes despite all the medical assistance, fair price stores, and electricity utilities. All pilgrims must undergo a mandatory health examination; only those in good health are allowed to proceed in order to reduce losses. Even yet, severe weather, natural calamities, and traffic accidents are common. However, none of this deters the devoted devotees of Lord Shiva from joyfully undertaking this risky pilgrimage each year.

Helicopter-Assisted Amarnath Yatra

Beginning at the helipad in Baltal

Helipad in Pahalgam is where to begin.

All rides are scheduled according to specific times, which should be rigorously observed.

A single debit or credit card may only be used for a maximum of five reservations. For the following three weeks, the same card cannot be used for booking. When providing a boarding pass, the credit card used for the reservation should be copied.

Children under the age of 13, people over the age of 75, and women who are more than six weeks pregnant are not permitted to make the trip for safety reasons.

Visiting The Cave From the Drop-Off:

If choosing the helicopter ride, the pilgrim will be dropped off at Panjtarni, which is 6 km away and takes two hours to reach the Amarnath caves. However, given the number of pilgrims present, the walk may take up to four hours on flat ground. Please be aware that the hike to the caverns is challenging due to the lower temperatures and altitude sickness, which calls for a slower pace.

PALKI/PONY RIDES

One option is to hire a Palki as they will lead you straight to the cave. Pony rides are also an option, although they will leave you off two kilometres before the cave due to the terrain's mild incline.

Requirements: In accordance with guidelines established by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, all pilgrims/travellers wishing to use helicopter services during the Amarnath Yatra must provide a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) for each participant (SASB). Long before the start of advance reservations, the official website posts a list of accredited medical professionals.

No pilgrim or traveller may board the helicopter without presenting a CFC that was issued on the designated date. Any CFC issued prior to or following the given date will be void.

Camping facilities with Prefabricated huts are available at Baltal, Nunwan, Sheshnag, and Panjtarni for overnight stays. Through commercial contractors, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board sets up these camps, which run between INR 250 and 375 per night.

Along the Amarnath Yatra path, numerous private tents and shelters have been erected. These include bedding on the floor and in cots, as well as quilts, mattresses, blankets, and pillows. These range from 250 to 1000 INR every night.

Baltal Route: Holy Cave, Baltal, and Manigam

Pahalgam Nunwan, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, and Panjtarni are the routes.
